Area of ​​Rice Harvest and Production in Maluku Utara Province 2021

The availability of timely and accurate agricultural data is the foundation for realizing targeted agricultural policies. Since 2018, BPS has collaborated with the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN) which has now merged into the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), the Ministry of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (Ministry of ATR/ BPN), and the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) are trying to improve the methodology for calculating rice harvested area through the application of objective measurement by utilizing advances in information and communication technology and the availability of high-resolution satellite imagery. This collaboration is manifested in an activity entitled “Integrated Food Crops Agricultural Statistics Data Collection with Area Sample Framework (KSA) Method” or better known as the ASF Survey. The ASF Survey for rice commodities began to be implemented nationally in 2018. Field observations KSA surveys were conducted on the last 7 (seven) days of each month. Based on the results of the KSA Survey in Maluku Utara Province in 2021, the rice harvested area reached around 7 782 hectares or decreased by 2 520 hectares (24.46 percent) compared to 2020. Meanwhile, rice production in 2021 was 28 051 tons GKG. . If converted into rice, rice production in 2021 will reach around 15 697 tons, or a decrease of 8 580 tons (35.34 percent) compared to rice production in 2020. In addition to producing an estimate of harvested area, the KSA Survey also provides an overview of other very rice phases. , such as the area of ​​the early vegetative, late vegetative, generative phases, potential for crop failure, the area of ​​agricultural land that fell apart, and the area of ​​agricultural land planted with crops other than rice.
