Abstract

The Area Sample Framework (KSA) method is a collaborative activity between the BPS-Statistics with the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN) which is now the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), the Ministry of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (Ministry of ATR/BPN), and Geospatial Information Agency (BIG). This activity began to be implemented nationally in 2018 and is included in a national project to support the achievement of one of the national priorities, namely food security, in order to improve food statistical data. The main objective of this activity is to obtain an objective, scientific, and modern method of collecting data on rice harvested areas by involving the role of the latest technology, so that agricultural data, especially rice production data, can be collected more accurately, quickly and on time. The Executive Summary of Rice Harvested Area and Production in Maluku Utara Province 2021 provides brief information on the results of implementing the 2021 Rice KSA data collection. In addition, this executive summary also presents provisional figures for the harvested area and rice production for the January-April 2022 period based on the January 2022 KSA Rice data collection. Hopefully this report can provide an overview of data on harvested area and rice production in accordance with field conditions. We hope that the rice statistical data obtained through the KSA method can provide great benefits for the Indonesian people, especially as a basis for policy making so that food security can be realized through rice self-sufficiency.
